Caprese Chicken Stack
Updated: Aug 19
This Caprese Chicken Stack came together on one of those very busy nights when we needed to get dinner on the table for our daughter without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.
We grabbed a frozen chicken burger and decided to dress it up with a few fresh ingredients we had on hand. Fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, fragrant basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze turned a simple chicken burger into something fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly special. It came together in just minutes, and the best part? Our daughter loved it!

Caprese Chicken Stack Ingredients
1 frozen chicken burger
Fresh mozzarella, sliced thin
Fresh tomato, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
Balsamic glaze, to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Caprese Chicken Stack Instructions
Cook the frozen chicken burger according to the package directions.
While it cooks, slice the fresh mozzarella and tomato and rinse the basil.
Place the cooked chicken burger on a plate.
Layer the fresh mozzarella and tomato over the chicken.
Add fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
Finish with freshly cracked black pepper and a little crushed red pepper for heat, if desired.
Serve immediately.
Why You'll Love It
Ready in minutes: Perfect for those nights when you need dinner fast without sacrificing flavor.
Fresh and flavorful: Creamy mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, fresh basil, and tangy-sweet balsamic glaze make every bite pop.
Simple ingredients: No complicated prep or long ingredient list—just a few fresh ingredients can transform a frozen chicken burger.
Family-friendly: It's an easy way to make a quick dinner feel a little more special.
Pro Tip
Don't skip the balsamic glaze! It's what brings everything together. Drizzle it over the mozzarella, tomato, and basil just before serving for that perfect sweet and tangy finish. For a little Sizzling Lime heat, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
What to Serve With It
I served my Caprese Chicken Stack with crispy air-fried potatoes and steamed broccoli for a simple, well-rounded meal. The crispy potatoes add a great contrast to the soft mozzarella and juicy tomatoes, while the broccoli keeps the plate fresh and easy.
Other easy sides that would work well:
Crispy roasted vegetables
Simple green salad
Air-fried sweet potatoes
Garlic green beans
