This Healthy Creamy Horseradish Mustard Sauce is a quick, spicy alternative to traditional mayo-based sauces. Made with Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, and plenty of prepared horseradish, it delivers a creamy texture with a bright tang and a satisfying kick.

We love it on steak and roast beef sandwiches, but it's also delicious with burgers, chicken, roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, and as a dip for fresh veggies.

Healthy Creamy Horseradish Mustard Sauce Instructions

1. Mix

In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, horseradish, lemon juice, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt until smooth and well combined.

Stir in the fresh chives or cilantro, if using.

2. Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust to your preference.

For more horseradish heat, add another teaspoon or two of prepared horseradish. If you prefer a milder sauce, add a little more Greek yogurt.

3. Chill

Cover and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes before serving. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and gives the horseradish time to develop its punch.

Give it a quick stir before serving.

Sizzling Lime Pro Tips

  • Use prepared horseradish, not creamy horseradish sauce. Look for grated horseradish with a simple ingredient list, such as horseradish, vinegar, and salt.

  • Fresh lemon juice makes a difference. It adds brightness without making the sauce overly acidic.

  • Want more heat? Add another teaspoon of horseradish rather than adding hot sauce. It keeps the signature horseradish flavor front and center.

  • For sandwiches: Lightly toast the bread or add lettuce or spinach between the bread and sauce to help prevent sogginess.

  • Make it ahead: The sauce can be prepared ahead of time and kept refrigerated, making it an easy condiment for busy weeknight meals.
